Today I woke up early to drive westbound to Glennwood Springs to have my Jetta serviced. It turned out I needed a new Mass Air Flow Sensor that was covered under warranty. Meanwhile Tasha and I went for a 8 hour hike all around Glennwood. After I got back to Vail, I went Rock climbing with Friends just past Red Cliff at Roof Rock. I love this place in the evening because it gets sun baked in the late day. Jamie and I took Kim for the first time and it turned out that she was a natural at climbing. We all ended the day with such great pride! Thank you rock

Today after work Len, Ryan, Elena, and I went to Frisco to play disc golf. On hole 10 Tasha wanted to have fun in lake Dillion. So throw after throw Tasha was begging to be tossed back in the lake. Ryan and Elena came up this weekend from Denver to escape the frontrange heat. The weather up here in Vail has been sunny and cool in the 70's. Today was Vail's first Farmers market of the season. There were so many people there enjoying the music and food. Business at the Sonnenalp has finally picked back up this weekend. We had acouple weddings and other misc functions going on this weekend. Tonight Tasha gets a bath and I'm going to catch up on my sleep from this wild weekend.

Today I woke up early to find out that Dan is in good spirits after his surgury yesterday. However the only bad news is that Dan can't take a shower until Friday..........Stinky! My good news of the day is that I found out at the doctors office is that the sunspot on my lower lip is non threatening. It was basically a freckle that just out of the blue formed on my lip. After all that drama Len and I went to Beaver Creek to play some Disc Golf. The weather was a little cooler and a bit breezier. I shot my best at three up and Len shot his first at 13 up. Yeahhhhh! Later today I went for a ride with Jean and Sanja. Sanja ended up taking a really hard fall on a down hill section. She was a little banged up, so we're just about to take care of that with some Margaritas at La Cantina.

Today Jamie and I threw our first round of 18 on the disc course on Beaver Creek Mountain. The weather was great and there was no wind. Jamie shot a three up and I shot up one from him. Later today we took the dogs rock climbing with us to a few places. They were so happy to go as you can see in the picture below. During our last climb of the day in Gilman Canyon we ran into a Kayaker walking up along the riverside. The Kayaker explained to us that he had to bail out of his rig to avoid drowing, then ended up losing his kayak down stream. I've never heard of that situation before, but I guess it's common that Kayakers can actually lose there Kayaks down river. I'll never do that sport, or atleast for the next few years.
This was our second of four climbing sections of the day on Roof Rock.

Today ended so nicely with a short sweet mountain bike ride on the Vail trail. The accomplishment of the day was riding a clean line up this nasty rocky-rooty hair pin switchback on my mtn bike on the Vail Trail. Only after 12 attempts I cleaned it so sweet. Afterwards I meet up with Len and Dan at the Bully Ranch Restuarant at the Sonnenalp. The day also ended so nice with a beautiful rainbow and a colorful sunset over LionsHead Village.
Today my roomate Dan went to see the orthopaedics and they concluded that he needed to have surgury. So some time tomorrow Dan will be on the table at the Vail Valley Medical Center.

This weekend a few of my friends and I went to Homestake to do some rockclimbing. We all had such a great time climbing and encouraging each other. The mesquitos were so bad during sunset, but were gone by moonlight. Later Len and I tried to eat at one of my favorite mexican resturants called Mangos in a small town called Red Cliff. But later found out that it's closed for renovations. So we at great Mexican in Vail Village right before they closed.

Today Len and I tried to do the lost lake bike loop, but up towards the lake we ran into waist deep snow. We still ended up getting a good 19 miles on our mountain bikes with great backcountry views. Today Dan is in good spirits with yesterdays injury. He is not in pain and seems to be getting around fine. In a few days Dan will find out if he needs surgury.

Wednesday, June 15, 2005

Today my roomate Dan broke his Clavicle Road biking down a mountain pass. The only good thing about this break is that the bones are not rubbing, unlike his previous break 2 winters ago. So the pain is not as bad this time. Dan will be out of commission till the end of July, and possible surgury pending...........
Today Len and I drove to Hoosier Pass and hiked up Hoosier Ridge on Red Mountain. Our trek started at 11,539 and ended on top at around 13,352 feet. Len was sweating and feeling the zone 3 lung burn. At the peak of our hike I was throwing the dog frisbee way down the mountain side until Tasha could not hold the Frisbee in her mouth. After all that we finished our hike we ate at a local Italian joint off Breckenridge Main Street, so Good!
Tasha playing in the snow
The views were so panoramic ascending the ridge. The mountain thats right above Lenny's head is Quandary Peak at 14,265 feet. Which Len and I will hike this summer when the rest of the snow melts.
At the end of the hike when Tasha's Tongue hangs that low, you know that she's been worked.

Today had to been the perfect model day of what a typical day should be here in Vail. This morning the mountain bike wrecking crew woke up early and rode up Vail mountain to Eagles Nest. Then we dropped it likes it's hot down Matterhorn Trail. I did my first tetter-totter of the season on the decent. After the mountain bike ride Dan, Jamie, Tasha, and I went to Friso disc golf course and threw an 18 hole. After that we headed back to Vail and I took Tasha on a hike of to the East Vail water Falls. The views were so beautiful!!! Now I drinking Kokanee and watching the Pistons game, Good Night....

This is a picture of our crane at the sonnenalp hotel. I took this picture at work today because it shows how serious our project at the hotel is. Today I went to work at 7am and it was not to busy. After I got out of work I rode Meadow Mountain for the first time this season. There was still a lot of mud in some places on the trail, but it was a great mountain bike ride. I got to the top of that mountain in 1hour and 13minutes from my front door. After I finished the ride Lenny and I went out to dinner at La Cantina. UMMMMM good Margaritas!
Good Morning Vail

Rainey Day

I woke up this morning to the cold rainy weather and my boss call me to tell me to come to work an hour later. So I slept in and eventually cleaned the whole house up.
Now I'm at work right now and it's still cold and wet out. I talk to a couple who went up the gondola in Aspen today and said it was a snow storm up there. Next week the weather will be sunny and in the 70's. What a change from the spring weather we've had.

Saturday, June 11, 2005

Yeah there's still snow up here in the High Country, and you know who thinks it's evidently everlasting. Well Tasha's kinda right because we still have snow on our peaks from October into July. All of this snow was founded by Tasha because she was really thirsty from extreme high altitude payout.
This picture may look out of the ordinary but the new hype with Tasha is tennis fetch. All I have to do is serve the ball as hard as I can and Tasha runs like hell. So this is what Len and I did after work today on Hoosier Pass right outside of Breckenridge.

Friday, June 10, 2005

Well today turned out to be a bust for everyone who attempted to do anything out side. When I was at the dog park it rained, haled, and snowed. So Tasha and I decided to watch Chuck Norris movies all day long. Tonight Len and I are going to hang out tonight but have no official plans.
I woke this morning early concluding that the funky weather was going to put a dampen on my plans to do some rock climbing with Jamie, Jeff, and Rutherford. So today I think I will work on my bikes and pay bills.

As you guys know the Sonnenalp hotel is going through eight wonderful months of construction. The Sonnenalp will soon have a new wing a adding 35 different suites, retail, and the Swiss Chalet resturant. Also in addition our parking lot will be going underground. So by December 15th everything should be complete.

Len getting lucky with the Dark side of the roller durby team.
This was one of the harder core roller durby chicks that I happen to get a picture with.
Len, Me, and Temlock chill'in at the Teva Roller Durby.
Later that night Len, Temlock, and I went to the Roller Durby at the Dobson Arena. Yes I had to get a picture of Len and the Durby Chicks. Yeah pretty burley Chicks!
Vail Teva Games recieved a little snow this morning. But that did not put a damp'in on the events.

Saturday, June 04, 2005

Tasha and I half way to the Falls of Booth Creek.
Temlock, Tasha, and I during our hike back to the Trail Head encountered a huge Bear the started to follow us down the trail. So all three of us decided to get the hell out of this bears way.
This event of bouldering was my favorite event held here at the Teva Games.
This event of Freestyle Kayaking was one of the popular events held here at the Vail Teva Games.
