Today Vail finally got some 8+ inches of snow. First powder day in a month. So everyone and there Mom went out to ride some freshy-fresh! Me, Melanie, Daniel and Jamie enjoyed all the new snow the mountain had to offer.
Today was one of those day were we all just sleep in. The weather was just a little dreary with ancient snow pack. At around noon Nick and I finally got up on the Vail mountain to shred with the Avon crew in Golden Peak terrain park. Later Melanie and I took Tasha for a walk around town for some caffeine and some window shopping. Here's a picture of Tasha's swimming hole under one of Vail bridges.
Today Melanie and I went snowboarding for only a few hours before we had to go to work. The weather was great and the gapers were looking great! Melanie still can't figure out why Americans dress so weird?
Yesterday Melanie and I drove the two hours to Aspen to check out some of the X-Games in ButterMilk. I just had a friend move to downtown Aspen 2 weeks ago, so Melanie and I had a nice place to stay overnight. The rest of my buddy's couldn't even find a place in Aspen to stay for the games so they all stayed in Snowmass Village. Checkout more pictures of our time in Aspen On Mel's blog on the links on my page.
Last Sunday Nick, Jen, Mel and I drove up to Leadville to visit my friend Gary's Restaurant. You can visit there web page at http://www.rosiesbrewpub.com/
In this picture Gary is giving us a tour of the fermentation tanks for the beer.
Today was a busy weekend day of the week so Mel and I stayed deep in the tree's to avoid the crowds. Sadly Nicole left back for Denver this morning, however she'll be back next Friday for some more turns.
Enough of the backcountry, Nicky B. and I brought it to the icy park of Golden Peak. The pipe was icy, jumps huge, and rails were fast as.... Here's a picture of me doing a nose-slappy on the bench.
Today Nick, Jamie, Melanie and I hiked up to Benchmark point to drop in to some side country in Mushroom Bowl. It was Melanie's first side country pow pow experience, so some of her situations were kinda funny. The weather was great and the view were spectacular!!!!!
I love photography! My wife and I are in the process of launching our own photography career. I work for Todd Winslow Pierce who is a pro photographer here in Vail Colorado. The concept of how I see light has been taught through Todd and the mentors who's influenced him. Through my personal vision and athletic ability I want to showing people how I see translated into a picture. Translating my angle of vision into a picture really is rewarding to me. And I hope in the future I can do the same for you. Stay tuned with my blogger and I will have my new website stocked with great photo's.
