This reservoir is the heart of the suspension. It's called the Brain Shock, in which a little brass ball sits on a hole called the inertia valve. When this ball is moved up out of position (ex. from a rock on the trail) it opens the compression circuit allowing the bike to compress...........I'm jealous! But I still love the VPP
